Postcard Campaign
Indian NGOs in Malaysia have come together to release over 100,000 postcards to be sent to the Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato Seri Dr. Abdullah Badawi asking for the release of the HINDRAF members detained under the Internal Security Act.
Hindraf leaders M. Manoharan, P. Uthayakumar, V. Ganabatirau, R. Kenghadharan and K. Vasanthakumar were detained under the ISA in December last year.
Why do the minority have to do so much to get the attention, why are they detained under ISA…Clearly because they are the minority, i doubt no other race would be held under the ISA for demonstrating, they are treating them as if they were terrorist. Internal Security Act is a serious way of charging someone. They havent dont anything wrong, I do hope that the overwhelming amount of postcards that our prime minister will receive might consider him to use his brains, which i hope he has and think logically and do the right thing…so much distress is being cause, and it could be worse…
HINDRAF
HINDRAF is this coalition of non governmental organizations that have come together to preserve the rights of the Hindu community in Malaysia.
Their Main Claim Memorandum:
1. Commonwealth ethnic Indian peace loving subjects in Malaysia persecuted by government backed Islamic extremist violent armed terrorist who launched a pre dawn violent armed attack and destroyed the Kg Jawa Mariaman hindu temple at 4.00 a.m this morning (15.11.2007).
2. Appeal for U.K to move emergency U.N resolution condemning ethnic cleansing in Malaysia.
3. Appeal to refer Malaysia to the world court and international criminal court for crimes against it’s own ethnic minority Indians.
The HINDRAF group, i personally feel for, as i was born a hindu, i can understand their pain and their fight that they are pledging for. Malaysia is suppose to be a free will democratic country, and suppose to be a country that is very understanding towards every race and culture, yet this doesnt show when the people of the community arent allowed to make a peaceul demonstration to create awareness of their despair.
Who gives anyone the right to destroy a sacred place, for the hindus? NO ONE
If i was to destory a mosque or anything that has an islamic symbol status, there would have a been a war zone.
It is sad that the government think so low of these people, Its like, excuse my french, like they are pieces of SHIT. There are many educated people in the group, and there could be alot more if they were given the rights they deserve, as humans, as anyone else, but instead they are so steroetyped that people automatically assume they are dirt.
I understand, their behaviour might be out of hand sometimes, but its because they havent been given an oppurtunity to have the wonderful priviledges that the majority population have. And it doesnt help that the person who represents us, the minority group, is useless as hell.
What do we do then? How do we express ourselves? How do we try and gain some priviledges?
