Scholarships

MIC president in Malaysia, Samy Vellu has been trying to help the indians get more scholarships given to them by the public service department.

Samy Vellu said of the 187 students, three had scored 12A1, seven 11A1, 68 10A1, 66 9A1 and 43 8A1 in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination.

He had explained that he was trying to get at least two indian professionals in each family.

Currently, only 72 Indian students had received PSD scholarships of the 2,000 scholarships offered. thats a measly 3.6%, mind you..

Again the minorities are never considered, the results they have acheived doesnt mean much obviously seeing that they arent given the aid they would probably use to full use to help them get out of the minority criteria. it is like the government just wants them to stay in the minority section forever and ever… the saying that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer holds some water to some extent.

personally they tend to do better than the other racial groups at times, but they never receive any gratitude or help for it. if they had the money they wouldnt be bothered applying for the scholarship but they cant have the money seeing they dont have the higher education they deserve.

72 Malaysian-Indians out of 2000 Malaysians got scholarships, shouldn’t there be equality, its amazing the percentage that they worked out..

someone told me though that there exists a quota system at universities in Malaysia on racial groups. it doesnt matter if the indian has done better the the malays or chinese, there is a quota and u follow it. first its malay, the orang aslis (bumi non-malays), then the chinese and then the indian… did i get the order right? ;)

GET WITH REALITY..if you are smarter than another racial group, u should be given full benefit to pursue and do your best ……
