Punished for dating?

May 31, 2008 at 6:02 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , )

Just recently there was a major clash in malaysia, in a small town where 3 africans were beaten up badly for dating local girls. they fell victims since they were the minorities of the little town.
is it a reasonable answer? i dont see a law where it states if you are a foreigner you cant date a local, i mean come on, when malaysians go over seas they date foreigners, i dont see the locals of those countries beating up the minorities..
its amazing the mentality of people these days, we do not live in the ”olden” age, we live in a world where there should be no discrimintation regardless…
but we dont, its sad to see, racism still exists….

Scholarships

May 21, 2008 at 9:00 am (Uncategorized) (, , , )

MIC president in Malaysia, Samy Vellu has been trying to help the indians get more scholarships given to them by the public service department.

Samy Vellu said of the 187 students, three had scored 12A1, seven 11A1, 68 10A1, 66 9A1 and 43 8A1 in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination.

He had explained that he was trying to get at least two indian professionals in each family.

Currently, only 72 Indian students had received PSD scholarships of the 2,000 scholarships offered. thats a measly 3.6%, mind you..

Again the minorities are never considered, the results they have acheived doesnt mean much obviously seeing that they arent given the aid they would probably use to full use to help them get out of the minority criteria. it is like the government just wants them to stay in the minority section forever and ever… the saying that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer holds some water to some extent.

personally they tend to do better than the other racial groups at times, but they never receive any gratitude or help for it. if they had the money they wouldnt be bothered applying for the scholarship but they cant have the money seeing they dont have the higher education they deserve.

72 Malaysian-Indians out of 2000 Malaysians got scholarships, shouldn’t there be equality, its amazing the percentage that they worked out..

someone told me though that there exists a quota system at universities in Malaysia on racial groups. it doesnt matter if the indian has done better the the malays or chinese, there is a quota and u follow it. first its malay, the orang aslis (bumi non-malays), then the chinese and then the indian… did i get the order right? ;)

GET WITH REALITY..if you are smarter than another racial group, u should be given full benefit to pursue and do your best ……

Aren’t they Victims?

May 14, 2008 at 8:12 am (Uncategorized) ()

I was talking to a friend the other day about something that happened a couple years ago, the tsunami. We were discussing the disaster that happened in Sri Lanka, seeing i was Sri Lankan heritage.

It was disturbing to hear the the Sri Lankan government didnt want to give the Tamil TIger area that was hit quite badly any aid because they felt that the tamil tigers were terrorists, and therefore no aid should be given to them.

I was so mad, the tamil tigers arent terrorist, the word terrorist is used for everything now. You dont agree with the government, You are a terrorist.

Arent they Victims as well, havent they endured a disaster, didnt they loose family as well? Yes like everyone else they did…but NO AID…

What is the consicience of people coming too?

On a different note, i remember having a guest speaker at one of my university classes. She had experienced the tsunami first hand, and she was telling us how she was trying to do something back to help these people. however i remember she made a comment about something that got me shocked. firstly, she didnt know i was sri lankan heritage. She mentioned that oh Sri Lanka is doing fine now, they have an airport made of marble…i was in shock, does Sri lanka really need an airport with marble? They need their homes back, Their Land, where foreign investors had come in to build resorts, on OTHER PEOPLES land…
